When i type in the address bar for localhost (http://localhost) it goes through as http://www.localhost.com/...how do i stop this?

I need to know how to do this because it is hard to do work when it won't let me load my localhost.

Open mozilla and in url type about:config


now in search box


type---> browser.urlbar.trimURLs


and make this value false
