I have received a drop down window warning me of an insecure site

The window is headed "Software update", the message reads"Something is trying to trick Firefox into accepting an insecure update. Please contact your network provider and seek help". I have spoken to Bt broadband, they say"Bt can only help with broadband, speak to Firefox"

Note others have reported the same or a similar message so keep an eye on other posts for a possible solution. One user suggests the message may be generated by Google Updater.
