firefox 4 will not work---"offline"--lost all my bookmarks

firefox will not work since I followed the prompt to download firefox 4. always says "cannot work offline"...there is a tab at top of toolbar stating "problem loading page". I have tried to uninstall program and reinstall without success. lost all my bookmarks from previous firefox version which I used exclusively....very frustrating...now I have to use internet explorer and start all over loading bookmarks("favorites") and using "bing".

Is there any way to reload previous version of firefox and restore previous bookmarks?

I have lost all my bookmarks from firefox 4 and i cannot load any of my backups so i guess i have already lost them, is there a way to load my backups and fix this problem? everything was ok but now it´s not, please help!, i used ParetoLogic PC Health Advisor and i started noticing that my bookmarks eventually gone so i loaded a backup but now i cannot even do that.
