i want to change firefox 4.0.1 to use google as the default search engine on the navigation toolbar, not ask. please help!!

You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".

- Google "Browse by Name": http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
If that change doesn't work then it might be caused by an extension.
