I have a incompatible add on, I was wanting to update to firefox 5.0 .. it says it will disable my virus protection which I need .. what do I do

WebRep 20110101. avast is my virus protection .. it said if I update to firefox 5.0 .. my avast will be disabled .. I dont want it disabled .. and if I did does that mean I will have no virus protection on my computer

I dont know if I should update to firefox 5.0 .. I dont understand if I decide to upgrade to firefox 5.0 will my avast virus protection still protect my computer .. it says it will disable and later when its compatible it will then add my avast! WebRep 20110101 .. does this mean I am without my virus protection on my Pc
