when i open a new tab it is a blank page and i want to know how to make my homepage open up automatically when i open a new tab, instead of hitting the home button every time?

You can modify Firefox with and extension, I personally would not want that at all, before dismissing a tab I make sure there is nothing in the tab in a backward direction, and the and would consider looking a anything but a blank page for a new tab as an encumbrance but you can do what you ask for.
