Why do I keep getting annoying pop-up ads with sound even when I have all pop-ups blocked with no exceptions in options?

The pop-ups appear to be from Firefox. Is there any way to stop them? They are loud, unwanted, disturbing when online. They interrupt rudely.

Thank you for your help. I discovered Gamevance had been somehow loaded onto my laptop. I uninstalled it and the problem was solved. Horrific program.
