Why does Firefox 6 disallow AVG to monitor Page Status security on Web sites?

AVG Security no longer automatically scans websites for security issues, since I upgraded to Firefox 6 in accordance to "page status" tab in the AVG toolbar. This initially also happened when I first upgraded to the previous version 5 but appeared to be rectified after some days. I now have concerns about safely browsing websites that do not have a green tick indicating that they have been checked by AVG.
