I tried to upgrade Firefox from 3.6.23 to 7.0, but when I tried to drag the Firefox icon into my Applications icon, the error message window said I did not have permission to access some of the items

What happens if you install it into your own account? I have Firefox installed in my standard user account and have had no problems with permissions.

-> Uninstall your current Firefox

-> Download latest Firefox version from one of these links using some other Web Browser:

-> Installing Firefox on Mac

Check and tell if its working.
