Proxy Server is refusing connections.
Haven't used Firefox in a while. I'm running Internet Explorer 7.0 (currently since I can't get Firefox to work). I have a Qwest DSL as my internet service provider. When I try to go online to my Yahoo Email Acct (Home Page) I get an error message saying, "Proxy Server is refusing connections"."Firefox is configured to use a proxy server". How do I check to make sure the proxy server settings are correct or check the network administrator to see if the proxy server is working? I used it a couple of months ago without any problems.

Check the connection settings.
- Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection > Settings
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.
See "Firefox connection settings":
Thank you for your response Cor-el. I uninstalled Firefox 3.6.2 and downloaded version 7.0. I went into my Tools-Advanced Tab-Netwoork Tab and clicked the Connection Settings Button. I tried to Configure the Proxy to acess the internet by check marking the open Radio Button next to "Auto Detect Proxy Settings for this Network". Now the problem I'm having with it is; It will let me sign on to my specified homepage, (Yahoo.com) and access my email but when I click on a link to go to a site from my email, it opens a new tab but doesn't go to the site. The address bar text window says, "About Blank". Manually typing the site address here does nothing, as well. When I close the Firefox browser and try to reopen it I get an error message that reads, "Firefox is already running but is not responding". To open a new window you must first close the existing Firefox process or restart your Computer. Doing the 3 fingers salute (Control-Alt-Delete) verifies in the Processes Tab that Fire.exe is still there. I can't end the task at all unless I reboot. It's not there when my system completely boots up though, unless I open Firefox again and then, once again I can't get rid of it unless I reboot. What do I need to do to correct these new issues?
