Why, when I try to upgrade to 8.0.1, do I still end up with the same version, and a message that says "You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"?

Yesterday I tried to upgrade to 8.0.1 twice. Both times the upgrade process seemed to be working. I downloaded files, clicked on install, it told me it's "housekeeping" (removing the old version?), but in the end, I'm still running the same older version.

I upgraded at home on my laptop, no problem.

You appear to be using the latest version.

You may be seeing the old Start Page, though (google.com/firefox). If you restore the default home page, you should stop getting incorrect update notifications, which are supposed to be being directed towards Firefox 3.x users.

It's not the home page, it's the whole browser. It didn't change to the new one like in the picture.
