email links do not work. under tools, options, applications, content type, there is no mailto. How do I fix?

when I click on an email link on web pages nothing happens. checked help but when I followed the instructions I found no mailto under content type. how do I add mailto to content type?

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
