How do I restore my tab browsing I have tried what you suggested and it still won't work

I went to file hit "New Tab" and it still won't bring up a new tab, I have also right clicked on the new tab button and hit new tab and it still won't work. HELP!!!

Uninstall the Ask Toolbar. It can cause that problem.
