How do I make Google my default search engine as opposed to Yahoo (which happened once I signed up with McCafee with my internet provider)?

I don't want Yahoo as my default search engine. I would like it to be Google which it used to be.

If you are referring to the Search Bar, just click the icon on the left side of the search box, and pick a different search engine.

Hi srashed,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox. It will show you how to change your default search back to Google. Your homepage might have been changed as well. If it has, you should check out How to set the home page.

There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article Preferences not saved.

Hopefully this helps!
