I was asked to reboot my Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop to apply an update to my Norton protection product. I believe a Firefox update was applied recently as well.

After the reboot, Firefox crashes repeatedly. I usually cannot do much after restarting Firefox before it crashes again.

Hi Matt & Tobbi,

I followed all the troubleshooting steps in the links you provided & thought that was included in my initial post, but it only seemed to post the first half.

At any rate, i rebooted again, and so far things seem stable, even with the extensions extended, so i think my problems are resolved.

Thanks for your replies, Julie

Hey juliemims,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article. If you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out this article as well.

Hopefully this helps!
