Firefox crashes

Firefox will not load and I receive the following message box when trying to load Firefox; Mozilla Crash Reporter. The options are "Restart Firefox" or "Quit Firefox." When I try to "Restart Firefox" the message box appears. I have rebooted the system, then tried to load Firefox, and the message box appears. I have also tried opening in "Safe Mode" and receive the same message box.

I am uncertain how to troubleshoot since I can not get the Firefox page to load. I am also concerned that I will loose my Bookmarks (of which I have several) if I reload Firefox.

The crash report for your reported Crash ID bp-8d695863-e257-4ee5-af8e-1e13e2100902 is not currently available. I'll try again later but could you confirm that Crash ID?

If you already tried restarting in Firefox Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode and it still crashes, see Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems (under "The problem still occurs in Safe Mode"), Latest Firefox issues for your installed Firefox version (e.g., Firefox 9?) and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_crashes#Crash_when_starting_Firefox for other ideas.

Thank you Robin, but it seemed everything I tried (including saving backup information as a fail-safe measure) required access to Firefox, which always resulted in the Crash Reporter box. I finally succumbed to this frustration, and loss of productivity, and reloaded Firefox. Thank you very much for kind assistance!
