Smart Suggestor Ads - using a macbook pro using firefox 16.0.2 and want the smart search removed. i cant get rid of it.

i want to get rid of Smart Suggestor Ads using firefox, everytime i enter a search into google a window will appear listing 3 searches "that are smart" - that have NOTHING to do with what im looking for and want them off my search results.
