screenshot command no longer works in FF18
I used screenshot command fairly heavily to capture the entire webpage, but upon updating to FF18, the command is broken.
I can still do very simple things like "screenshot test.png", but anything more complicated than that will result in a prompt saying too many arguments. However, "help screenshot" clearly says I should be able to append lots of arguments after that, just as FF17.
I am not sure if I am the only one having the problem, and I'd like to know if anyone else encountered the same issue. Thanks.

This was filed as a bug:

However, it's not a bug -- just not documented well enough. You need to use "--" before any parameters.
i.e. "screenshot filename --fullpage"

Are you using any Linux tools to capture screenshot or pressing the button prtsrc
No. I am not using any external tool, nor hitting print screen key. I just brought up the command line interface with Shift+F2 and start typing commands, as I always do in FF17.
After FF introduced screenshot command, I've removed all screenshot addons, and solely relied on this command to capture webpages. This is really a fantastic command for my use case (as a non web dev).

My problem is that what used to work in FF17 no longer works after I upgraded to FF18. I am just not sure if it's my problem, or a bug. This breakage looks really obvious, and is unlikely to slip through FF's test team in my opinion. So I'd like to know if anyone is having the same problem...

Thank you very much, janger. You made my day. Hope Mozilla will improve the documentation in the next version.
You can enter "screenshot --" without quotes on the Developer toolbar to see the options help.
Hello,
this is my first post here, and English isn't my native language.
I had a similar problem with the FF Add-On Awesome Screenshots, since automatically upgrade from FF 17 to FF 18. And unfortunately only a very rough solution.
The Add-On seemed to work, but I can't save the images to my harddisk. I did the mozilla plugin-check with mysterious results, Java and flash-plugins should be outdated, but weren't. Nevertheless I did a reinstall of these plugins. Pluginchecker allways said they were to old. After a third hit to the pluginchecker, it aknowledged the plugins as new.
But nothing helps for the screenshot problem. As next step I deactivated all security add-ons and did a restart. No improvement. Awesome Screenshots couldn't saved images to HD.
At least I uninstalled FF 18 and reinstalled FF 17 what should I say : no longer problems to save the Awesome Screenshots to HD, nor with activated Add-Ons nor without.
So my conclusion this Add-On AWESOME SCREENSHOTS v 2.3.8 is no longer compatible with FF 18. Still until this moment. At the moment is FF 17 my first choice, because also the bookmark (?) ( say it in german 'Lesezeichen') function don't work properly with all websites in FF18.

This thread isn't about an extension, but about using a build-in Firefox feature via the Developer Toolbar to save a complete web page as a PNG file to disk.
- Web Developer > Developer Toolbar
The default file name is "Screen Shot yyyy-mm-dd at HH.MM.SS.png" in download directory.
help screenshot screenshot -- screenshot --fullpage test_fullpage.png screenshot --clipboard true --delay 5
Current Firefox versions have a lot of web developer tools build-in.
This page needs an update:
We have seen more reports that extensions that make screenshots aren't working properly, so you will have to wait for an update that fixes this.

Though this does not solve your problem, it might be useful for you and the other visitors until the problem is fixed - screenshot addon named FireShot does the job just fine: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fireshot/
