How do I stop websites from disabling the URL bar when I open them (the background gets greyed out and the text, while highlightable, cannot be changed)?

For example, when visiting a site like twitch.tv, if you open up the stream in a popout window, it disabled the url bar so you cannot navigate away from the page. I believe there is an about:config setting that can be changed but I don't know what it is.
