I've tried to find somewhere else to post this but this is all I've found.

I was looking for portable versions of malware removal software and came across this website as a link. I removed the colon so it doesn't form a link. The website says Firefox is out of date and attempts to trick the victim into downloading and installing a malware or other malicious program. I didn't download it, but it should be blocked to prevent whatever it's payload is.

I removed the colon from the link so it doesn't create a proper link. I right clicked on the link and selected copy link location. This is what it copied:

Please take whatever action is necessary. I didn't open the link, but someone more trusting may.

Yes this site is fake and is using Firefox popularity to prey on new Firefox users and inexperienced Windows users using Firefox. Firefox is not just for Windows (also for Mac OSX and Linux on desktop) and mozilla would never have updates by way of a small .exe more so on a random non mozilla.org site.

Thank you. I have done that.

Just today I had a screen open telling me I needed to update my Firefox. I didn't trust it because I had never seen an update reminder done that way.

I copied the URL which is http://www.update-browser.org/Firefox/

I immediately check for updates using my Firefox functions and it showed I did NOT need an update.

So, my dear fellow FF users, beware.
