Firefox is crashing very frequently, 20 to 30 times a day. Here is what I tried so far:

. Running in safe mode: it crashes any way.

. Checked the system for malware with rkhunter - nothing wrong was reported.

. Ran system updates.

The crash is happening with libc. There are infinite possibilities for what could be causing them, however bit rot (hard disk corruption) is probably high on the list. I advise running an fsck to see if the problem gets any better.

Try to install the version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.

You can find the full version of the current current Firefox release (37.0.2) in all languages and all operating systems here:

You can try a new profile as well.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

You can set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.

Hello again,

I run the disk check but it did not came up with anything wrong. Yesterday I left Memtest86 running; this morning it was still going, after 14 hours, and reporting a series of errors.

I probably need a RAM chip replacement. I will report back further developments.

Regards.

I found mine was crashing because Firefox was trying to load tabs that were about:blank Due to it crashing and did not save the tabs properly to reload back up and so the tabs tried to load up as about:blank crashing it over and over upon restart. Thus why I added this add-on
