I checked the download history and saw that it was stored in temp folder. I followed the instructions you mentioned now the downloaded filed are saved in downloads folder. Thanks for helping

Hi, no. You would need to be watching the file download location ans see if a temp file is created then it should be converted to the finished product.

If corruption happens during the download from the site ie lost packets the file can not be converted and the files will just be prob in the temp folder or the cache and be unwatchable. Or you were downloading something else that is now in your system.

It would depend on the site you are downloading from if it is reliable. It is also possible that Defender has done something to it. They are in the Event Viewer and would not be reliable or effective to read.

You can decide if you want to Refresh Firefox and see if it is the problem : Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Note: Any customization will revert back to default.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
