When I click on a video thumbnail I get a message that says "currently playing" but there's no video. If I move mouse pointer to the space where video should be playing, I can see an address appear at the bottom of the screen which contains the name of the video, but no video plays. I've emptied the cache, history, etc., restarted firefox, even removed and re-installed firefox, but no success. I only have this problem with my home page. Youtube and all other websites work fine.

It did not start to play for me either at first, but when I clicked on another video it started to play.

Please check to see if one of your plugins may be affecting this. You can disable them temporarily to see if there is an improvement.

It definitely should autoplay. In your about:config entry does media.autoplay.enabled set to true?
