Running Firefox on a MacBook Pro, Firefox opens a white blank screen, can't type web address, have access to the file menus, but they won't open.

I've tried restarting it in safe mode and reinstalling it. Nothing works. Just a blank white page.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
