I cannot retrieve my Sync informations
Hello.
I was using Firefox on Windows 10, but I needed to format my pc because of some kind of HDD problem. There were tons of passwords and bookmarks on my Firefox and it was just working fine.
I formatted my pc, reinstalled Windows and Firefox. I entered my e-mail and pass to the Sync page but nothing happened. It can connect easily but it's not syncing back my passwords and bookmarks. As I said before, it was working fine before the format. I did these steps too many times, after any kind of formats or deleting data/program completely Firefox just could Sync successfully and bring back everything.
Can someone help me please ? I could recover my bookmarks thanks to Chrome but I need those passwords.

By the way, in my first try it said that my password is wrong even though it was correct. I changed my password, tried to connect. It accepted but nothing happened about synced items as i said before.
Does this mean someone stole my Sync account ? I think that's impossible. My email was 100% safe.
Please help
Sorry - not sure why your Password wasn't accepted. But when you changed your Password for Sync, all your data was cleared from the Sync server.

I really don't know. I tried it at least 5 times but it didn't accept it.
What do you mean all my data cleared from the Sync server, are there any warnings about that ? If I would know this, I never reset my password ... It's nonsense. Why Mozilla thinks he needs to reset all things if the user forgot the passowrd ?
The currently used Sync version still uses the Sync key to encrypt data locally before uploading. This Sync key is generated internally from the password of your Firefox account, so you do not need to worry about it. Without the correct password it isn't possible to decrypt the data stored on the Sync server because the correct Sync key can't be generated. The Sync key changes when you change the password of the Firefox account and you lose all data stored on the Sync server when you change the password of the Sync account.

Well, at least it can warn me when I try to change my password .. At least I could save all my bookmarks. Thanks for the help.
