I had setup Firefox sync several years ago, and with a recent reinstall of my system software I was unable to login or reset with my creditenals.
Why did my account get deleted? I have the email, password, and sync key that were setup previously and this account is not seen as a valid account! I use LastPass as a password manager, and I know that this data is correct.

Uh-oh, starting April 2014 there was a transition from the original Firefox Sync service to a new service you access using a Firefox Account. The old service/accounts were turned off 9/30/2015, and the old Recovery Key is not used with Firefox accounts. See: Firefox Sync upgrade - Frequently Asked Questions.
If you transitioned, you probably have the login saved somewhere else, hopefully.
If you didn't transition, do you have any local backups of your Firefox data?

Firefox 28 and earlier use the "Sync Key". Sorry, that old server was shut down about a year ago.

OK thanks. I don't have a backup, but it isn't really a big deal. I use Firefox as a secondary browser. I guess I am upset that they were unable to convert the old data into the new system.
