This is what itsays This app cant open, microsoft edge cant be opened using the built-in administator account sign in with a different account and try again. I have never had this before, have no idea what to do.

Microsoft Edge is a browser. This forum is about Thunderbird email client. Can you offer a bit more info?

Do you have Thunderbird open? Can you see mail accounts and folders in left Folder Pane? If you select a folder can you see a list of emails? If you click on one of those emails in list, does it show up in lower Message Pane?

Did you open the email in Message Pane, but then click on a link within that email to open it in a browser ? Is this when you get that error message?

If yes, then this sounds all ok as far as thunderbird is concerned, but can you read the comments at this link:
