It tries to download emails but eventually times out. Error: An error occurred executing the cmd_getNewMessages command: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x8055000a [nsIMsgIncomingServer.getNewMessages]" nsresult: "0x8055000a (<unknown>)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js :: GetNewMsgs :: line 2719" data: no] Source File: chrome://global/content/globalOverlay.js Line: 99 Once this happens, if I get msgs again, it works. If I don't force to get msg, it won't give me any new emails. I'll tell it to get msgs, it will say 6 to download - the green segmented bar moves but nothing.

This just started happening so I upgraded email program - still happening. This is XP SP3 so maybe Mozilla doesn't want me to use them anymore.

Do you have an antivirus program scanning incoming mail? This problem has happened before with AVG.

Norton - same as before the problem started - Nothing changed there - why all of a sudden?

If it's due to incompatibility between TB and Norton, that could be introduced whenever TB or Norton are updated. Does the problem disappear if you disable email scanning by Norton? Email scanning by AV programs is not recommended.

Norton just admitted to me that they are not compatible with TB!!! Funny - it has worked fine for years! They suggested I switch to Outlook. I told them to pound salt & that I should have picked a different AV vendor. I will try to disable email scanning...
