Does it start in safe mode? see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

If not... Suggest you reinstall Thunderbird... Start Windows in safe mode. Delete the directory "Mozilla Thunderbird" in %ProgramFiles(x86)% Restart Windows Redownload and reinstall Thunderbird from http://getthunderbird.com/
