Firefox version 59.0.2 64bit Windows 7

The ' button opens the quickfind (links only) and / opens quickfind search bar at bottom when there is no typing field selected in the page. I want to disable this feature but there is no way it could be achieved. Modifying about:config page as per suggestion from these pages https://foliovision.com/2007/11/firefox-quickfind & https://freeshell.de//~kaosmos/index-en.html do not help!

Please suggest ways to disable or change the shortcut for quickfind options.

Cheers.

Chosen solution

I found a workaround by installing userscripts.

1. Install Violent Monkey or similar userscript manager : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/violentmonkey/

2. Install the script : https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/13484-prevent-slash-opening-quickfind

Though this solves the problem, firefox should address this issue.

Cheers
