Win 7 x64 Home Premium

Firefox 62.0.2 (x64)

Under Add/Remove Programs, there is only one listing for Firefox (Version 62.0.2).

In Windows Explorer, it is only listed under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

However, under "Set Default Programs," there are two listings for Firefox and they are identical. Both state 'This program has all of its defaults.'

1. What is the fix so that Firefox is only displayed once under 'Set Default Programs?'

2. What is the difference between a program having all of its defaults and a program having 1 out of 2 defaults?

You may have installed a 32-bit and 64-bit Firefox version.

  • (64-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (32-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

You can uninstall the 32-bit version if you only want to use the 64-bit version.

Cor-el:

No, like I mentioned already, Firefox is only listed under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\" but it is listed TWICE under 'Default Programs.'

1a. Should I uninstall Firefox completely from Add/Remove Programs, re-install Version 62.0.2, then check the 'Default Programs' list again?

OR

b. Is it possible to 'repair' Firefox then check the 'Default Programs' list again?

2. Under the un-installation link provided by Cor-el, it states 'Control Panel->Programs->Uninstall A Program->Firefox,' which is incorrect; What version of Windows does this order refer to?

I am using Win 7 and the order should be 'Control Panel->Programs and Features/Firefox'
