Browser refresh erased my bookmarks
I took the bait and clicked on the interstitial to refresh my FF for improved speed. It states that it'll save all "essential" data. Well, ALL my bookmarks from the last 3 years of browsing are now gone. Tried to import the backup and the latest (and only) option was from today.
Sure FF is much faster, but where do I go?......

What about the rest of your profile? passwords, settings . . .
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

Never had to go through it but now I know exactly what to do. Thanks, FredMcd!
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
I use an add-on that makes backups of my user profile, Just In Case.
Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data. This should be done with Firefox Closed.
Note: In case you need to restore from these backups, you may need to overwrite old or corrupted files.
