clear history when firefox closes

I have selected 'use custom setting for history' option and checked last three option too. In setting of history setting I also ticked on 'browsing and downloading history'. So Firefox should clear my browsers history when I close it. but it doesn't. Please help me with this. I am using latest version of Firefox on windows10 if this does matter.

That should work. Is any new history accumulating as you browse or does history seem to be frozen in time?
