Hello, I can't configure any new email on my thunderbird.

I have tried yandex.com (of which I already have a working one configured), protonmail.com, mail.com, with any provider find the configuration but then error: unable to authenticate on server. The configuration, username or password might be wrong.

My version of thunderbird is 91.9.1 (64 bit) on linux mint.

Can you help me understand why I can't configure any new email?

When you confiugure a new account at mail.com Thunderbird reaches out to https://autoconfig.thunderbird.net/v1.1/mail.com and downloads the config. Then it report that a configuration is found.

Do you reach this point, or are you experiencing firewall issues.
