New laptop so needed to load Thunderbird. Previously emails in the Inbox when clicked on went from bold face type to regular type. Now they remain in bold face, no matter what is done, seemingly forever. Is there a way to get them to go to regular type? It is sure much easier for me to tell which ones I've already read. Thanks for any suggestions. Richard

This is the setting you need to check: If using 102*: Menu icon > 'Settings' If using 91*: Menu icon > Preferences

Select 'General' scroll down to 'Reading and Display' Select 'Automatically mark messages as read' Select 'Immediately on display'

Exit Thunderbird and wait a few moments for background processes to complete Start Thunderbird.
