I am trying to setup Thunderbird to ONLY send emails from a specific account that does not have inbound capabilities. I ONLY have SMTP creds for this account.

It seems that unless I add a mail account (like gmail, etc) to Thunderbird I am not able to do this? There has to be something that I am setting up incorrectly, though.

How do I add an SMTP only account AND be able to send from Thunderbird?

I am using Version 128.5.2esr (64-bit)

What happens if you add the smtp server in Account Settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP), (bottom of left pane), then select the relevant account in the left pane of Account Settings and select the new smtp in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) drop-down in the right pane?

If the account can't be added the normal way, go Offline by clicking the icon at the left end of the status bar, start the New Account dialog, then choose Manual config. and Advanced config. to enter the incoming server settings and the new smtp. After the setup, click the Offline/Online icon to go back online.
