How can I 'decouple' Yahoo! from Mozilla Firefox
I no longer use Internet Explorer from Microsoft. I use strictly Mozilla Firefox. I also no longer want to use Yahoo! and note that they seem to be coupled with Mozilla Firefox [and the two businesses are very close to one another] How can I get Mozilla Firefox to dump Yahoo! ?

Every time Firefox opened

Hello John.
There definitely is an easy way to do what you want, but you need to know exactly where and how Yahoo is coupled with Firefox. Here are a few things you may want to know:
- if your location bar redirects you to Yahoo when you insert a keyword, see this;
- if you don't want the Yahoo search engine in the search bar, click the search engine icon. In the drop down that appears (with the various search engines you may have installed), select "Manage search engines". A window will appear, where you can select the engine you want and click "Remove".
- if it's a bookmark for a Yahoo page, you should be able to rightclick the bookmark and select delete. If you have more than one, you can quickly search them all by going into Bookmarks > Organize bookmarks... and searching yahoo to display all yahoo bookmarks. From there, you can select multiple bookmarks at once and delete them easily;
- if Yahoo appears as your home page, try reading this to know how to change that;
- if you are seeing Yahoo stuff in your interface (like a toolbar or a button), you need to uninstall the extension(s) that is(are) causing this. For that, go into Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, select the one(s) from Yahoo in the list, and click Uninstall. You will need to restart Firefox for them to uninstall.
