Just as the question states really, some pages don't load, and have to be refreshed usually several times before they load correctly.
Sometimes the title loads and displays in the tab/title bar of FF, but still no content.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I only use the default themes, knowing that themes often impact performance, I never bother with them.
I've just started in Safe Mode and still had the same issue loading pages.
I'm tempted to try a complete reinstall of FF (having everything backed up first of course!)
If anyone can suggest anything else, I'd be extremely keen to try other (less drastic) solutions...
Thanks,

Same problem here, and it's basically making Firefox obsolete.
I am a Mac user, and have two Macs on which I run Snow Leopard and Firefox. Ever since I updated to version 4 of FF, the application seems to lose connection on a regular basis. Even without any themes or extensions, pages that load perfectly (and very fast) in Safari, are simply unable to load in FF. Changing proxy settings does not help a bit: Firefox "can't seem to find the server", and it's without a doubt a bug in the application. Even a newly installed version of MacOS on a newly bought Macbook Pro results in the same problem.
It seems that many people are encountering the bug and I can only hope this will be looked into fast.
When the pages don't load for me, I just get a blank white screen, so doesn't tell me it can't find the server or anything, it just doesn't do anything...
