I want to create folders into which I can put amassed bookmarks.?

more options

Wishing to organize my bookmarked pages, I look to create a folder but don't know how. At the top of the Firefox page is a drop-down menu for Bookmarks. I click that and get just about every bookmark I've ever done. I don't want to see every bookmark I've ever done, just folders into which I can put things or in which I can click things. Safari is so clear in this. I can't figure out your system. The Bookmarks Toolbar I can sort of figure out, but just storing bookmarks into folders is a mystery.

In Firefox 3, click Bookmarks and then click (I believe it read) Organized Bookmarks -- in Firefox 5 it reads Show All Bookmarks.

Be sure All Bookmarks (or it might say Bookmarks Menu, I think) is selected on the left and up in the toolbar at the top click the little cog icon. You should see some options including New Folder.

Create new folders to your heart's content and then drag and drop bookmarks from the right-hand list into the folders on the left.
