Hi -

Where do I set my options for spell check in forms? It's a great feature. I find that on some web pages, spell check is not working. I just wanted to be sure that spell check works on all web based forms (such as the form that I am using here).

Thank you, Randy

Hi -

Thank you for your reply. I have a fairly good working knowledge of computers, but just the average user, and couldn't follow all the information on that page.

Might be better to re-word:

Looking at the top line of my screen, I have the following tabs:

File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help

Which tab(s) would I get into - and from there what buttons would I click on - in order to enable spell check in all documents? On this document spell check is working just fine...on another web page form that I was working on a few minutes ago, it was not working.

The Firefox version I have is 9.0.1 and Firefox is up to date; in fact, it just updated recently.

Thank you, Randy

Firefox only does a spelling check in multi line forms like the text area where you type the reply on this forum.

If you open the about:config via the location bar and change the value of the above mentioned layout.spellcheckDefault pref to 2 then you can also enable the spelling check for single line input fields. Note that this will make your name and other not recognized text to get underlined as spell errors.

Websites can also disable the spell check via an attribute (spellcheck="false").
The Google Translate page does that for instance.
