After I place a tab on my desktop the icon will not open. Instead I get a message [InternetShortcut] URL=http://www.ask.com/?o=0&l=di? I have made Firefox my web browser MANY times.....still no success? Any ideas??? I have Vista 32

Where does the message appear: in Firefox or in a text editor?
If the shortcut does not open Firefox, the hidden .url extension might need to be re-associated with Firefox. (In Windows XP, this was easy, but in Vista and Windows 7, this might require a registry edit.)
That is a problem with the default browser that isn't working properly as posted above.
