Facebook uses at least three different domains. It sounds as though you checked this, but since you described it a little differently, I'll mention it just in case:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Content
To the right of "Load pictures automatically" the "Exceptions" button

You would want to unblock facebook.com, facebook.net, and fbcdn.net.

If you are using an ad blocker, you might need to adjust its settings.

If this affects other browsers, your computer may have a site filter. Make sure the above domains are allowed.

Thanks, but both not seem to be it. I have an add blocker but I have disabled it and nothing happened. Could it be something to do with flash player somehow ? My explorer seems to get it almost ok with a warning about security authorization..

Does Flash work on other sites? I'm not aware of any special Flash problems with Facebook, but admittedly I don't pay special attention to Facebook.

What error does IE give you? It's possible that Firefox is blocking the content for the same reason but simply not displaying the error. You can view Firefox's error console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+j. For best results, click the Clear button, then reload the problem page. There's usually a lot of style warnings. You can click the Errors button view just the errors.

I didn't see any error messages in firefox, explorer gives me (and please forgive me for traslating back from hebrew): The website is blocked and not showing content which includes errors in security authorization. Could it be something on the firewall ?? Thanks again..

Many security suites and firewalls include filters that block entire sites. Some filters work the other way and you need to "whitelist" allowed domains.

Do you have the same problem on non-private Facebook pages such as: http://www.facebook.com/thaifoodandtravel ?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

You can inspect all permissions via the about:permissions page.

  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
