When I changed my provider from shaw to telus, I lost all my emails. I have other accounts and don't want this to happen. Even the other folders were gone.

I had to change the incoming and outgoing server. My email provider suggested I open a new account because that is how it is done they said. When we opened a new account everything I had there before including archives vanished. I have other email accounts with Thunderbird and I don't want the same thing to happen. How can I save all my emails that are in my inbox, sent items and other folders when I change the server name and port?

Thank you, Christianne
