Need advice on how to import contacts into Thunderbird on WIndows 8 - problem seems to be that the People app in windows 8 is so dumbed down you cannot export contacts from it. I also cannot find any data files in the C:/users/user directory or any subdirectory of that.

So questions are: 1. where are my contacts in Windows 8? 2. how can I get these into csv format to import into Thunderbird?

Many Thanks in Advance for your help on this. J

Chosen solution

I think you will have to access the contacts via browser in your hotmail/outlook/live account: click the 'More Services' drop-down next to the Outlook button, then click People, click Manage/Export, and save the WLMContacts.csv file.
