Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Does Firefox open then?

If not, you can retrieve your bookmarks from your Profile Folder

  • C:\Users\Moses\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx,default
  • The file you want to make a copy of is places.sqlite

The x's refer to random characters.
