Hi , I have just switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox. In Internet Explorer I had "current Page" as an option in "print range" in the Print box. It is very useful option when you just want to print the current page you are viewing. Is this option available with Firefox please?

Printing is one of the areas of Firefox that lags IE, perhaps because it hasn't had the pressure of being a standard in a corporate environment...

I notice that Firefox has a "Current Page" option on Linux, but not on Windows. So there is some code in the code base somewhere that should make it possible.

There have been projects in the works to improve printing on Windows from every perspective (control over paper, page setup, etc.), but progress has been slow. We could file a new request for this change, but I suspect it would be queued behind the bigger rewrites that would obsolete any quick fix.

Still, if a developer wrote the fix and fought for it, it could be approved out-of-sequence. I think that kind of initiative and perseverance still count for a lot.

I guess this boils down to: right now, it's not a native feature. Until it's added (someday) you could look for an add-on.

I should mention the workaround, which you may already have discovered: use Print Preview to find the part you want so you know what page it's on, then click the Print button on the preview toolbar (or press Ctrl+p) and enter that page number into both the from and to boxes in the Print dialog.

Thanks jscher2000 for your helpful replies. I guessed that maybe it wasn't an option in Firefox. Thanks for confirming that. Hope they add it one day as it saves time! Yes, thanks, I don know about print preview & selecting the pages. Very useful function! But takes longer when you just want the current page. Hope firefox is reading!
