I have read the Signatures article and applied it successfully, but it only works on new msgs, not forwarded msgs or replies. How can I get it to work on all?

I have read the Signatures article in the Help files and composed an HTML signature file, and it works fine but only on new messages. Nothing appears for forwarded messages or replies. How can I get it to work on all types of outgoing email?

Tools-Account Settings-Composition and Addressing About mid-screen

If the Menu Bar with Tools is not showing, press the alt key to make it appear.

You have to set this option in each one of your accounts if you have more than one.

Thanks for this - this is where I had expected it to be, but it wasn't there on my system. This prompted me to check my Thunderbird version (I have resurrected an old laptop as my desktop machine is playing up) and found it was v 1.0.2 from 2005 which didn't have this feature. It hasn't been auto updating for some reason. I have now downloaded the latest release and all is OK. THANKS.
