Now I use Firefox 30.0. I feel that plug-in checker doesn't notice some new versions. Actually, it answered "This is the latest version." in following plug-ins.

flash player 13 (latest 14) shockwave player 12.1.1 (latest 12.1.2)

I know the wrong report of java proseeding from 8 beta. Is these plug-ins in same condition of java? or check failure comes from other reasons?

should we not believe the plug-in checker anymore?

I take it with a grain of salt, and check the websites where I get my plugins for new ones.

The plugin checker has to be told what the current version is. Anything that does not match its data is flagged. Even when what you have is newer than what the database has listed.

To finitarry Thank you for answer. We should be aware that it's a Secondary source.

To FredMcD Sorry, my english didn't meen enough. My case is that I have older version and the checker doesn't flagged. I wanted to know whether the database is renewed rightly and trustable.

Thank you for taking the time for me.

Any time you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the web site of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to Mozilla.org. {web link}

To FredMcD It's the best way checking it by myself. I will take care not to put too much cofidence in plug-in checker. Thank you for answer.
