what happened to firefox? its lagging when i scroll which is damn annoying ...while google chrome is smooth as hell ... ....when scrolling firefox lags ...while chrome is very smooth ...i even reset firefox completely ...its the same thing ...why is the scrolling lagging? i want to use firefox but the lagging makes me not want to cuz its so annoying ...i want it to stop lagging ....my CPU is windows 8.1 500GB HDD 2GB ram and 256MB intel graphics card ..chrome never lags ...but firefox ALWAYS AND ALWAYS ...i do not understand .

Lagging means that there is alot of memory is being used by Firefox so make sure you don't open enormous tabs and also watch your add-ons since there are some add-ons were reported to have problems with memory like memory lacking, etcetera.

i dont have no extensions i even tried completely resetting firefox and i use windows 8.1

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration. Then restart.

Then the problem may not be Firefox. Try this;

Check the programs that are on your computer

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder Linux:

Start your Computer in safe mode. Then start Firefox. If there is still a problem, try FF in save mode also.
