How do I add hotkeys for commonly used replies?

I end up using a few different sentences pretty regularly in replies, and was wondering if there was a way to make a hotkey combination that would allow me to paste this text in without having to type this in each time. Also, is there a similarly quick key combination to tag emails?

Keyboard shortcuts for tags are just the tag numbers - see Message/Tag or AppMenu/Message/Tag.
